In fact, the only problem with pizza is that we can’t eat it at all hours of the day. Sure, most of us would be lying if we said we haven’t eaten a leftover slice for breakfast at one point or another.
Now, according to dietitian Chelsey Amer, that might be something you’ll actually want to do more often.
In an article from The Daily Meal, Chelsey outlines why a slice of pizza might be more nutritionally beneficial as a breakfast food than a bowl of cereal.
According to Chelsey, “You may be surprised to find out that an average slice of pizza and a bowl of cereal with whole milk contain nearly the same amount of calories.”
Calories aside, she also points out that it, “packs a much larger protein punch,” that will keep you fuller for longer throughout the day.
While a slice may be higher in fat than a bowl of cereal, it also will not cause the same sugar crash you often experience from a sweet bowl of cereal.
